FAQ
Welcome to the FAQ section. We
encourage you to use this knowledgebase to find
out more about WebHawk and how to use it. If you are having trouble finding the
information you are looking, for or have
questions that are not answered, here please
contact our WebHawk support team.
Q: Why is WebHawk so inexpensive?
Websense and
SurfControl have 99% gross profit margins as
reported in their 10K filings. Our business
model does not require that we operate on 99%
gross margins. Webhawk is a great solution at a
fair price.

Q:
How do I configure
my Cisco switch to use Port SPAN?
By default, Web Hawk will
try to transmit traffic (to block web requests &
transmit Name Resolution requests)
on the same port it is monitoring traffic on. When configuring a Cisco
switch to perform Port SPAN on some
firmware versions, the SPAN Destination Port the switch is receiving
traffic on will not allow packets to be
transmitted into that interface (in other words it is "unidirectional").
