Tangent Announces the VITA 7500S -- An All-in-One LCD PC with Touch Screen for Healthcare

Powerful All-in-One LCD PC Saves Space and Can Also be Used on Carts and as a Wall Mounted Workstation

San Diego, CA — February 8, 2006 - Healthcare industry computing just got smaller, thanks to a new all-in-one touch screen LCD PC from Tangent Inc., which will be unveiled here at the HIMSS06 Conference and Exhibition on February 12.

The VITA 7500S integrates a 17-inch LCD touch screen display into a slim, attractive, all-in-one chassis that fits ergonomically into a health care practitioner’s office or hospital environment.

The VITA 7500S is only 3.5 inches thick and weighs only 18 pounds.

VITA has numerous wall-mount options, including a vertical lift mount, to meet space limitations and mobility requirements of the health care, manufacturing, home/office, education, and government environments. VITA can also be used on computer carts to meet the most demanding mobile needs. It is an ideal solution for patient rooms, labs, nurse’s stations, and in medical and dental offices — wherever patient data or computer access is required.

Suggested retail is $1,495.

VITA is powered by Microsoft Windows XP Pro and comes standard with an Intel Pentium 4 processor, integrated graphics, slim CD-ROM/DVD/CD-RW/DVD RW, 6-in-1 media reader, built-in speakers, 512K of DDR SDRAM (expandable to 2GB), 120 GB ATA hard drive, and 10/100 Ethernet. Available options include touch screen, WIFI 8021.11b/g and TV-tuner.

"For over 17 years, Tangent has been a leader in selling PC and networking solutions to vertical markets, such as education and local, state, and federal governments," said Mike Zabaneh, Tangent Vice President of Marketing. "Our research indicated a need in the medical field for a low cost, light weight and space saving computing solution that was designed specifically for healthcare professionals."

A key feature of VITA is low power consumption. It consumes approximately 260W versus 450-500W for PC and CRT combos. Data entry can be by stylus or by optional touch screen on the display. The display has a tilt range from -5 degrees to +25 degrees to provide viewing comfort and ergonomic flexibility.

Tangent backs VITA with a one-year parts and labor warranty and one-year optional on-site service. It is available direct from Burlingame, CA-based Tangent at www.tangent.com
